This week, I'll break down the Bant Golos deck piloted by Jean-Emmanuel Depraz in the Mythic Championship V and explain what all the cards' uses are. I really like this deck and though it is a bit slow to get going, I feel that it is quite enjoyable to play.
The Decklist
The Break-Down
Arboreal Grazer ramps us at an extremely cheap cost which is definitely what the deck wants. It also can stall for a bit, blocking other creatures and also having reach.
Hydroid Krasis is one of our finishers, but it also lets us draw cards to find other important cards like Golos or Field of the Dead.
Golos helps us find Field of the Dead, our main finisher. There isn't much more to say about it.
This card is useful as it ramps us, but also lets us find guildgates which have different names from each other.
Most of the other cards in the deck are very similar to the cards mentioned above and fulfill the same roles. For example, Growth Spiral/Fertile Footsteps are similar to both Arboreal grazer and Circuitous Route.
